**advisary - please observe OPSEC on this non-secure commo area ** We got a green light from "our friend" at The Island. We are g-t-g on the AO. Now we need an OPLAN. I talked with Guardian and he thinks we can craft a OPLAN that will utilize the AO well. Based on the scenario of Iraq riverine ops.
We need some ideas to kick around and develop.

Sounds like a swim team is getting organized. Have recruit, need to confirm proper equipment (wetsuit, fins).

Do they want to go? That would be awesome. Are we swimming Saturday night?
We are wide open operationally at this point.
Wiseguy is hydrophobic, so he can go by boat but not swim. We need to ask Destro.

I plan on operating a jet ski. Pleas advise if I can implement it into the Op.
Not exactly realistic but it will be fun as hell.
What advise for actually riding this thing all the way down from Sacramento? Bring gas cans and a map?

Destro, GPS, waterproof phone bag, calculate you MPG and have gas cans to get you from gas station to the next. They are usually rated fo gallons/hour. Then you have to calc what that means in distance. Some guess its about 2-3 miles per gallon at full throttle.
Interesting insertion plan. Sounds great. and you have the wet suit. -out

Destro, This could work well as a swimmer delivery vehicle. Viking used one in 2007 DT op More Jet ski info... mpg will vary based on a lot of conditions including which pwc you are riding, water and wind conditions tide etc. here is a good forum that discusses mpg on jet skis www.pwctoday.com/f18/honda-milage…For Comparisons: Honda F12X GPSCape 3.1gph @ 35mph = 11.29mpg / 12.2gph @ 60mph = 4.92mpg Kawi STX-15F 3.7gph @ 35mph = 9.46mpg / 10.5gph @ 63mph = 6.00mpg Yamaha FX HO 4.5gph @ 35mph = 7.78mpg / 10.8gph @ 60mph = 5.55mpg Sea Doo RXP 6.4 @ 35mph = 5.47mpg / 15.9gph @ 67mph = 4.21mpg you can multiply the above estimated mpg by the fuel tank size to come up with estimated range. as example if the honda has a 16.6 gal tank X 11.29mpg = 187 miles hope this helps

Brothers,
I have an extra wet suit and four sets of fins if anyone needs them. The fins will fit over your boots (2 of them size 9 or under, the other 2 fits any), but you better be slim to fit into the wet suit (where's Don Hutchinson when you need him, lol).
I'm planning on being there and swimming (need a team leader?). but my availability is up in the air, as I am changing jobs. I should know in the next week or so. If I can't go, I'll have another wet suit and fins set for use, plus mask and snorkel.
Sacto guys, I'm down with carpooling. I can fit one or two (depending on gear load) in my Xterra...wait...I think the only Sacto guys besides me are Jason and Andy...well, in that case, need a ride, fellas, lol?

Destro,
Very cool !
Hey - on the mines can you follow a different design? if you already bought the bouncy balls that is cool but...
I spoke with Jason about making the mines out of 1-2litre soda bottles tied to a weight [brick?] by some para cord. This would allow us to place a glow stick inside for an indicator [so we can find them] and as a symbolic "armed" signal. Another method would be a Balloon in a similar way.
The idea would be that the Redfor swimmers that place them mines will have to insert the glow stick while swimming then screw closed the cap. Including some water would possibly allow neutral boyancy. Clear water might give a "hole in the water" effect at night. Possibly this might make finding the f-ing things difficult-er.
Then the Bluefor UDT guys will have to similarly de-fuse the mines by removing the g-stick, before calling in the tender to retrieve the inert mines. Repeating this process for every one will take concentration and stamina.
Thanks, Tinman

Guardian,
G-Bear and I got the zodiac MOTOR - CLEANED AND ATTEMPTED TO START IT. AFTER A FEW TRIES SHE FIRED UP AND IS GOOD2GO. Reno Crew has lined up a borrowed truck to pull the trailer to the AO. We will do a checkout and test inflation on the Zodiac on Sunday afternoon with Wiseguy as well as final rigging for transport.
We trust the OPLAN is coming along well. Any help needed with maps? Any news from the CDK on a skiff?
Thanks, Tinman OUT
